Biography:
Brighton raised and now based in north Yorkshire, I have spent the best part of two decades working in independent music for the likes of Warp, Because, PIAS, Believe and now AEI Music. My experience includes leading successful chart topping album campaigns, starting in house labels and devising award winning creative. I have a deep knowledge of digital trends and a keen understanding of how these developments impact music culture and consumer behaviour, and an extensive knowledge of content strategy, paid media, brand marketing, advertising and social media. I also make a great cup of tea.
Personal Statement:
As a senior music executive I'm incredibly passionate about the intersection of technology and creative arts, and how that shapes the future of the independent music sector and the industry at large, especially in these fast charging times. I have a proven track record in digital innovation and how that can push forward the capabilities of the independent sector to create a fair playing field.The first person at a label to launch a timed release on Spotify? That was me. The first person to create a chart eligible third party streaming app on Spotify. That was also me.
With the ongoing consolidation of the music industry, AIM's influence is increasingly crucial in upholding fair representation and protecting the interests of independent stakeholders. I have experienced first hand the incredible work they do behind the scenes, be that community building, lobbying or advocating for protections and advancements in the tech sector, an area that without organisations like AIM, the independent community could get completely railroaded. With this in mind, I'm excited to bring my experience and expertise to the board and help drive real change and innovation for the independent music sector.
