Ross Hampl

Head of Commercial UK, International - Partisan Records

Biography:

I’m based between Manchester & London - I’ve been in the music industry for over 13 years. I started my career working in small independent labels around the West Midlands then eventually started as an intern at UMG where I worked for almost 10 years at Caroline International/ Virgin Music Group - here I gained insight into all the amazing indie labels putting out incredible music. I've since moved to Partisan Records as Head of Commercial and have been here for over 3 years. My expertise lies in the Commercial & Digital landscapes.

Personal Statement:

Over the last 13 years or so I’ve worked with some incredible labels - mostly all independent. The majority of my experience sits within Commercial and Streaming/ Digital - I’ve pretty much dedicated my career to it. I’d like to think I can bring a wealth of knowledge and relationships with all key DSPs to the AIM board.

I’m passionate about developing artists and how they can find their voice/ audience on streaming platforms. Whether that is how we work with them directly for a fair share of support or how we can use campaigns to take control over the growth of our artists. Streaming reform is something I’m actively working across with the WIN streaming committee and being involved with how the platforms can better contribute to independent artist share and help provide us with better data.

I recently moved to Manchester after being based out of London for over 10 years. I am keen to get more involved in the Northern music scene, meet artists, labels & managers. I want to understand what AIM could be doing more of to help those in the industry outside of London.
